Christmas
What is it about Christmas that makes one crazy? I love Christmas. The gift-giving, the hot choclate and decorations. I don't know much about the snow where I come from, but the idea is inviting. I love Christmas music and the memories of Christmases past. It really is the most wondeful time of the year. The best part about Christmas is to really remember why Christmas exsists. The whole reason we celebrate this time of year. The reason is Jesus. We somethimes misplace the real reason we celebrate. Among all the caroling, candycanes, and mistletoe, we nee d to remember that our Saviour was born to save us all.And that is the real reason we should celebrate Christmas, not just the many traditions of Christmas, but celebrate the birth of our Lord,Jesus Christ.

The Rambling Thoughts of Home.
Christmas Music
Why is it that Whenever November comes around, everyone thinks it is automatically ok to play Christmas music? Christmas music id for CHRISTMAS,not anytime of the year. It is for a special event..Christmas. It does not seem rational to play " Its beginning to look alot like Christmas"in July. July..it is VERY a very hot and steamy month since it IS summer. Christmas is cold and in DECEMBER ( a winter month)..therefore it does not look anything like Christmas or feel like Christmas in July. Christmas music should only be played after Thanksgiving. It may not be that close to Christmas, but at least one is not so sick and tired of Christmas music by the time the big day actually DOES come around that one doesn't even want to listen to Christmas music. I mean seriously people..you may think that I'm a grinch, but its not even close to Christmas. The day after Thanksgiving, I will be the top dog Christmas spirit people, but until then. leave Christmas music for CHRISTMAS since that is what it is made for!!!!

Prayer
Prayer is very important to maintain your walk with God. If you do not pray regularly it will not seem the same if you quite and then start up again. it will seem harder. I have learned this by experience, and am still working on it. I don't think prayer has to be a thing where you think you have to get down on your knees and pray in the most eloquent way possible. Prayer is simply just going to God, and talking to Him like your best friend. I think there are other ways to talk to God than praying audibly to Him. One way is to write down a prayer. This will get all your thoughts down on paper so that you can go back to it later and realize what God has done in your life. It is like a personal diary to God. Another way to pray is through song. My friend and I were talking one day about this subject and she mentioned that you can sing your prayer to God. I have not personally done this, but it makes since in a way.

Devotions
Devotions are the most important part of our lives. It is our time to talk to God and really let Him know how we really feel when we can't tell anyone else our problems. It is also a time to allow our Heavenly Father to speak to us and to guide our lives in the direction we need to go.
All this is very true, but why does it seem so hard to do our devotions sometimes? I mean, sometimes I am SO happy to spend time with God, and other times it feels more like a chore than a joy. I know we have all been there, especially me.
I don't know if this helps any but, it does help me some. I have learned some things that may help other people ( and myself especially) to not get so bored.
- Change up the way ou do your devotions. Don't just do the same things and stay in the same routine. This, for me personally ,is where I get bored with m devotions the most. I think you should have structure. I mean don't just open up yoiur Bible to the first thing you see and start reading, but maybe switch thing around like read and then pray or vice versa.
-Also, my friend and I used to call each other every morning for the longest time, and we woiuld have a little devotional and just talk, and then we would pray. It would for only about 15-20 minutes at the most, but it started the day off right, and was just refreshing to hear another person tell about what God was doing in their life.
Maybe that isn't the best way of doing devotions, and maybe ou have other ways of doing our own devotions. Please let me know what you do that helps you the most.

The Jail
On Thursday, I got to go to the jail for my Christian Service ministry. I had been there before, but had I had not gotten my clearance to go into the jail until Thursday.
It was a wonderful experience. We got there around 6:00 in the evening, and started preparing the things we needed to for the service like tracts and certificates for different awards the men would get.
Once we had completed everything ,we went into the pods. Paige and I took turns leading the singing. After that was all over, Bro. Hyatt preached from Pslams, and the men had a paper to fill out, so Paige and I helped the guys close to us fill them out.
After we got done with the first pod in 51 south, we repeated to same thing in 52 south right down the hall.
The men of the jail may seem a little scary to people who have never been in the jail, but they are really not. All of them are very nice, even though they might not have done very nice things. That is why they are in jail right? Even though they may have done some horrible things, they are still people and need salvation!

L-O-V-E
Love- It's a thing everybody likes to talk about. The feelings we have for another person. But is love just a feeling or is it something more? Is it just the flowers, the candy, the kisses and affection someone gives to you? Let's look at this from a Christian point of view.
1Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
My teacher in highschool always told us that love is a chioce. It's not the emotional high we get from the other person. It is selfless. Love makes one want to do so much for the other person that you forget about yourself. It is complete dedication that other person. Things may not work out, but still you want the other person to be happy whatever happens to them or wherever they go.
I may not know too much about this subject, but I do know that I when that right person comes along, I want 1st Corithians to fit into my life. I do no want just an emotion, but true and selfless love

Why worry?
Matthew 10:29-31
Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the
ground without your Father.
But the very hairs of your head are all
numbered.
Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many
sparrows.
Why should we worry about anything? If God cares when a sparrow falls or how many hairs we have on our heads, then we should realize that He will take care of the problems we have right now. This may be a simple verse, but it is so true. He cares for all our needs. In Psalm 121 it says that He is our keeper, and He will protect us from all evil. We have such a wonderful Lord and Savior! No matter how big or small we think our problems are, He will still take care of us, and help us. So no matter what comes our way, just remember: God is good ALL the time!
